13 years as a graphic designer, DTP Editor, Typographer and 7 years of art being my day in and day out. I connect with the world, people and my surroundings through colour, shapes and energies.
EVERYTHING has a colour!
Being creative and artistic has always been a part of me. I ALWAYS had a sketch book and a pencil no matter where I went.
How did I get here?... It was a journey although I will do it again! I have been drawing since the age of 6 and by the time I was 13 I knew I wanted to be a designer and artist. When I started working, I put my this passion aside. I spent my young adult years gaining A LOT of experience in different fields. I worked as a teacher and aftercare facilitator, kids fitness trainer, Swim coach, textile designer, sales rep, PA, Personal Trainer… oh you name it lol.
Although some of them were also passions, Although non
of them were my TRUE passion. It took that many occupations before
I realized what was and is my true fire.
7 years of research, hard work, experiments, failures and learning from my mistakes has helped me define my skill as a designer, creator and as an artist. Through this I discovered what is my style, what mediums I enjoy using and what tools I use to create the piece. It took (a whole lot of) patience, practice, persistence, consistence, and showing up (even in PJs!).
This is something I live by everyday and in everything I do.
If I had given up, trust me there were times I felt like it and got really
frustrated, I would not have accomplished what I have. Trust the process!!!
Besides art, what I am most passionate about is kindness and compassion. This is a huge part of me. No one is perfect, but I firmly believe what I put into this world has a way of coming back to me. How I treat people or make them feel.
Being judged, labeled or stereotyped is something I will constantly defy and fight passionately. Not to forget, I LOVE making people smile. One of my ways, is through my Art. This is why I love what I do.
To dream, create and inspire, being authentically me and being the best
version of me is something I work on everyday. Be it creating an artwork,
designing a brand, coaching or teaching, I hope to inspire and help other
individuals achieve a positive mindset and outlook. Not to forget, I LOVE
making people smile. One of my ways, is through my Art.
This is why I love what I do.
I am constantly growing and always learning from things I experience, see, hear, people I meet and how they got to where they are. Those don’t only teach me something but inspire and motivate me.
My biggest accomplishment professionally is being recognized for who I am and what I do. Achieving small successes over
periods of time is very rewarding.
Personally, I have overcome many obstacles. We all go through moments which make us stronger. All that I have experienced throughout my life has definitely made me a stronger, wiser and definitely more empowered woman.
With that being said, having a really good support circle is important to me. Others who can celebrate my successes and uplift me in my failures, support me and encourage me to keep blossoming.
